Reporters Without Orders Ep 280: NDTV’s Adanification, MP Peegate and Seema Haider

This week, host Gurmehar Kaur is joined by Newslaundry’s Tanishka Sodhi and Avdhesh Kumar.

Tanishka reported on all that has changed at NDTV, and all that has remained the same, six months into Gautam Adani’s takeover of the TV network. She divulged how the news outlet has transformed from being a critic of the Modi government to becoming a typical legacy media. She said the transition of its coverage can be seen in their reportage.

Avdhesh reported on how Pakistani national Seema Haider’s love blossomed in India. He delved into the media scrutiny faced by the unusual couple. He also spoke about his reportage on Delhi’s flood, which resulted in many people and their cattles being stranded at their homes. In addition, he spoke about his report on the viral video of a Madhya Pradesh man urinating on a tribal worker, and chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s attempt at damage control.

Tune in.
