Representation matters in all areas, but especially in modern media.  In the last few years, we’ve seen a huge increase in the amount of online media created specifically for black women, but only a few have been created in a way that can capture the nuances, struggles, and challenges that we all face.  Black Ballad has done this so well.    This is why I am so excited to have Tobi Oredein, founder of Black Ballad,a UK based digital platform for Black women on the podcast this week.   Black Ballad was created due to Tobi’s realization of the lack of diversity in mainstream media in the UK.
