Southland Tales - Part 1 (with Brian Lonano and Kevin Daniel Lonano)
After a thoroughly cursed attempt to talk about a totally different movie — whose name shall not be spoken — I finally managed to record a conversation with the brothers Lonano, Brian and Kevin Daniel. They chose to revisit Richard Kelly’s 2006 apocalypse epic Southland Tales. Along the way, we touch a little on “midnight” movies, and Brian mentions a documentary called Midnight Movies: From the Margin to the Mainstream, which, for reasons beyond my fathoming, is available from Amazon under the title Starz Inside: Midnight Movies. At least, I hope it’s the same movie. It has the same director and runtime, and IMDb says he never made another movie with a related title.
