Taking a gut punch when longtime owner Chip Ganassi decided to sellout in the middle of the season, Kurt Busch went on to win at Atlanta, making the Cup Series Playoff for the ninth year in a row. He would, however, sputter in the opening round and wound up 11th in the final championship standings.
