Recently I have been thinking a lot about the common denominator in nearly all health issues that we face as a 21st century society today:  depression, anxiety and other related brain health challenges, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, autoimmune diseases such as arthritis, Lupus and others, allergic disorders and sensitivities, hormonal disorders of the thyroid, estrogen, testosterone and more, sleep disorders, neurodegenerative disorders such as stroke, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and gut health disorders such as IBS and IBD and everything from constipation to diarrhea ALL have at their ROOTS underlying problem of ongoing chronic INFLAMMATION.

So, you may ask, how does this inflammation get going and what fuels it and how do we prevent or stop it?  Great questions and the answers are explained in this week’s podcast though to cut to the chase;  it all boils down to a couple simple things that we DO or DON’T DO related to our DIET (what we eat or don’t eat), MOVEMENT we do or don’t do, SLEEP or lack thereof, our STRESS management and our GUT HEALTH.  These are the pillars of Optimal Health and how we manage them will determine if inflammation gets triggered and sustained or how we can QUENCH or STOP it. 

AND the besta part of it all, is that this is ENTIRELY under OUR control and DOES NOT need a specific medication or pharmaceutical to solve each and every problem but usually and most commonly can be remedied with using FOOD as MEDICINE and the other habits or actions mentioned above.

YES, FOOD can be that powerful in a POSITIVE way or conversely in a HARMFUL way and WE get to decide what lands at the end of our FORK.
