the subjects devolved to Gram Panchayats in India vary from state to state. However, in general, the 73rd Amendment to the Indian Constitution, which came into effect in 1993, devolved certain subjects to the Panchayats at the village level. These subjects fall under the three lists mentioned in the Eleventh Schedule of the Constitution.
