Where the Crawdads Sing 2022 Movie Review. The events of the detective film "Where the Crayfish Sing" takes place in the small and quiet town of Barkley Cove, somewhere in the wilderness of North Carolina. For many years, locals shared with each other the legend of the "swamp girl" who kills guys. The main character is high school student Kia Clark, who has been living as a hermit since childhood and tries not to communicate with anyone. Two new guys show up in town and Kia befriends them. However, one of Kiya's new friends is soon found murdered in a swamp outside the city. Clarke is appointed guilty, moreover, the locals begin to believe that she is the same swamp girl.
