Except, actor Sayani Gupta's message of urging people to celebrate a cracker-free Diwali doesn't seem to have gone down too well with a section of Twitter users. The death of LSR student Aishwarya Reddy has led to outrage against the college administration and the government after her family alleged that she was asked to vacate her hostel and 'denied' scholarship. In a note written in Telugu, Aishwarya Reddy wrote she “can't live without studying.” The Kolkata Police on Monday registered a case against Delhi-based academic and rights activist Madhu Purnima Kishwar for tweeting a video of an Islamic rally in Bangladesh and claiming that it took place in Kolkata.
