Is Gluten Good or Bad for Health? | #MPS

Don’t we hear a lot about gluten and gluten-free diets these days? Is gluten bad for your health? Should we stop eating products with gluten? Let us look at some gluten facts and dispel a few doubts... Let me explain what gluten is. #Gluten is a protein found in a variety of grains such as wheat, barley, and rye. It can be found in bread, pasta, pizza, and cereal. It acts as a binder, holding food together and adding a "stretchy" quality. Many studies have found that eating whole grains improves your health. Gluten may also act as a prebiotic, feeding our bodies' "good" bacteria. Arabinoxylan oligosaccharide is a prebiotic carbohydrate derived from wheat bran that has been shown to boost healthy bacterial health in the human gut. So, who should avoid gluten? #Celiacdisease patients have an immune reaction to gluten. When they consume gluten-containing foods, they develop inflammation and damage in their intestinal tracts and other parts of the body. According to current estimates, up to 1% of the population has this condition. If you do have celiac disease, you must follow a gluten-free diet to eliminate the inflammation and symptoms. Then there are those who are gluten-intolerant. Their celiac disease tests are negative (normal), but whenever they eat gluten-containing food, they experience symptoms such as bloating, diarrhea, or crampy abdominal pain. Wheat allergy is one of the causes, which can be diagnosed through testing. Avoiding gluten makes sense only for people who have celiac disease or a wheat allergy. For everyone else, stop worrying about gluten and enjoy your bread, pasta, pizza, and other wheat products. #MPS #SHROFFism_4_U Like, Share, Subscribe, and Keep Listening #SHROFFISM Stay connected on www.shroffism.com | https://linktr.ee/manjula_pooja_shroff
