Episode 37 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla marks the start of a new life in Panchvati, near river Godavari, by Ram, Lakshman and Sita. On the way to Panchvati they meet Jatayu who introduces himself as Maharaj Dashrath’s friend. Jatayu promises to keep guard and take care of Sita as and when the two brothers have to step out. Ram and Lakshman build a cottage at Panchvati and start living there peacefully. One day Shoorpnkha, Ravan’s sister, comes there. She falls instantly in love with Ram and proposes to him. Ram does not want to insult a woman and replies with humour. The light conversation takes a gory turn when Shoorpnkha attacks Sita with the intention of killing her and eating her up. Ram rises to save Sita. The murderous attack on Sita must be punished. Shoorpnkha cannot be killed due to her being a woman. Ram orders Lakshman to cut off some body parts of Shoorpnkha to punish her. Lakshman immediately obeys the order and cuts off her nose and ears.  (Ref.
