वाल्मीकि रामायण के राम क्र० २० राम के वनगमन के पश्चात शोक तथा महाराज दशरथ को अपनी गंभीर भूल का एहसास
Episode 20 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla begins at the point when Ram had left for the forest. Maharaj Dashrath returns to the palace, but not of Kaikeyee, of Kausalya. The trauma of the past twenty four hours has made him lose his eyesight. He is in extreme sorrow. Kausalya is also extremely sad. Sumitra, Laxman’s mother, consoles Kausalya. Sumantra, the charioteer of Maharaj Dashrath, who had gone to drop Ram, Laxman and Sita, returns. He conveys the parting messages of Ram and Laxman. Sumantra’s return (without Ram, Sita and Laxman) convinces finally and firmly Maharaj Dashrath and everyone else in Ayodhya that Ram has actually departed for a fourteen-year exile. Maharaj Dashrath now realises the big mistake that he had made when faced with demands of Kaikeyee. Alas, it is too late now! (Ref.
