The Price of Indiscretion
The Panchatantra is a series of inter-woven fables, many of which deploy metaphors of anthropomorphized animals with human virtues and vices. According to its own narrative, it illustrates, for the benefit of three ignorant princes, the central Hindu principles of nīti. The Panchatantra was originally written in Sanskrit language and it constitutes five books. There are 84 stories and also many interpolated fables in it. The stories of the `Panchatantra' offer us the possibility of making our lives richer and more meaningful. Through the wisdom of its fables the `Panchatantra' offers a vision of ourselves, warts and all. In so doing, it makes us aware of the fact that solutions lie within ourselves. The Price of Discretion is very good bedtime story for kids and the moral is that don't try to act smart always.
