Episode 46 – Laura Preng

Today I am joined by Laura Preng of Preng and Associates who is a long time energy recruiter to talk about the state of the industry, tips and tricks of the trade to be more visible and be considered for more roles, thoughts on what to do if you want to pivot from an energy career and what to look for in the next 5 years.  I’ve been friends with Laura for a long time and I always enjoy talking to her and getting her insights, especially in this unique time in our industry. I hope you enjoy.   Podcast Audio   Laura's official bio Laura Preng is a Partner at Preng a Associates and specializes in recruiting board directors, C-suite executives and senior leadership for public and private companies in the energy industry.  She joined the firm in 2011 after working several years as a recruiter for another energy recruiting firm and leads engagements in the upstream, downstream, midstream, and service and equipment sectors.  Ms. Preng also partners with private equity firms and helps recruit board members and senior executives for their portfolio companies and professionals for their firms. Prior to entering the search industry, she spent more than twelve years honing her interviewing skills as a television news reporter and anchor for the CBS affiliate in Jackson, Mississippi, and the NBC affiliate in Nashville, Tennessee. As a reporter, Ms. Preng covered politics and breaking news stories and was recognized by the Associated Press with a number of awards, including best investigative and spot news. Ms. Preng serves on the advisory board for the NACD Tri-Cities Chapter and is an active member of the Ft. Bend Junior Service League.  She attended the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in New York where she graduated with honors in Broadcast Journalism.
