This got slightly out of hand. Welcome to part one of Days of Red Stars Past: Beginnings. This part features a brief roundup on where the league is at in Covid-19 response, how we're holding up and what the Red Stars have been doing (spoiler it's content). We also set the stage for the beginning of the NWSL, and break down the circumstances that led to Chicago playing their first game against the Seattle Reign in April of 2013. It's a trip. We'll have Part Two ready to go for you guys in a couple days, where we discussed Chicago's first win, and the debuts of Julie (Johnston) Ertz and Vanessa DiBernardo.
