When our system cannot find safety through the body, it tries to find safety through the mind. And how does the mind find safety? Through worrying, overthinking, ruminating, projecting, comparing, distracting. To find safety in the body, we have to slow down and show the body we care. Seems easy enough right? It is hard, it takes courage and patience. It takes courage to remain soft in hard times. When we transfer our safety from the mind to the body—there, the change blooms into trust and empowerment.
