ECR: Ukraine crisis impact on Eastern Europe

In this latest podcast from Euromoney Country Risk, economist and editor Jeremy Weltman discusses the Russian invasion of Ukraine and what it means for other countries in Eastern Europe with Constantin Gurdgiev, associate professor of finance at Monfort College of Business in the US, and Panayotis Gavras, head of policy and strategy at the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank* in Greece. Both guests are providing their views in a personal capacity.

Constantin Gurdgiev and Panayotis Gavras discuss the refugee crisis, the economic effects in terms of economic growth, the supplies of Russian and Ukrainian goods, and inflation. The two contributors also analyse what the crisis means for the EU’s eastwards enlargement, how it is affecting the Baltic states, and whether any countries in Eastern Europe are more insulated than others from the war.

* Not to be confused with a similar sounding Russian bank now under sanctions
