252. Silas and Jesse share about their trip to DC

I have a very special treat for you this week on the podcast as I am joined not only by Jesse but by very special guest Silas as they recount their recent trip to Washington D.C. This father-son escapade was filled with excitement, learning, and plenty of unexpected moments. From exploring iconic landmarks to visiting poignant historical sites, their trip was nothing short of memorable, and they are here to dish out all of the details!

Join us as Jesse reflects on his role as a chaperone, comparing this trip to previous ones, including those with our older children. Silas, on the other hand, shares his perspective and all about his excitement over winning trivia vouchers on Southwest Airlines!

Jesse's and Silas' adventures also took them to Arlington National Cemetery, where they participated in a moving wreath-laying ceremony, and to thought-provoking museums like the Holocaust Museum and the Museum of the Bible. They also got a glimpse into American politics with visits to the Capitol and the White House Visitor Center.

Of course, no trip is without its surprises and disappointments! From missed opportunities at the White House to less-than-ideal tour experiences, Silas and Jesse navigated it all with humor and grace, and as Silas prepares to enter high school, this trip served as a bonding experience between father and son, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come! Tune in to our episode to hear all about Silas's and Jesse's DC adventure - a journey of discovery, connection, and the magic of exploring our nation's capital!
