Hunger Pangs, Big Appetites, and Your Soul's Built-In Protection

In this episode, Lauren reflects on what it means to feel hungry for more. She learned from culture and society that asking for more simply wasn't an option, and instead worked to make her primal hunger pretty and digestible. This inevitably meant making herself small.

For her, this smallness required restriction in every aspect of her life, from the physical to the emotional and spiritual. Lauren has recently experienced major changes in her relationships and her identity, especially after becoming a mother. She shares what it has been like to acknowledge these changes and her newfound, insatiable appetite for a bigger, fuller, truer life.

She also talks about:

  • The spiritual nature of restriction and binging
  • The deep ache for an honest and purposeful existence
  • Lessons she is learning from motherhood
  • Why it is important to become a living, breathing example for her daughter
  • Answering the call for greater freedom
  • Learning how to align what is felt inside with what is shown outside
  • Embracing the mess as a prerequisite for peace
  • Honoring the phases of life that bring change and revision
  • "Discharging the loyal soldier" with gratitude and compassion before moving into the next leg of the journey
