#199: Glitter and be GAY: Getting Personal About Systemic Prejudice

We bring you a conversation with Tim, Jess, and Andy. To launch Pride Month, the trio takes time to reflect internally as a team on recent events and issues of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. To kick things off, Tim, Jess, and Andy talk about the recent protests, and how issues for racial minorities intersect with issues in the LGBTQ+ community. Through an exploration of the history of Pride, they discuss how American legislation has built-in systemic racism and prejudice into our country with some specific examples. Andy and Jessica then share some personal stories of how implicit bias and microaggressions result. The episode is an opportunity to listen, learn, and is a call-to-action for continued education on the history of these issues.  For a deeper podcast dive, check out this week’s show notes ????!
