Episode 10 - Dr. Rajalakshmi S.J.
Dr. Rajalakshmi is an orthodontist who teaches and practices in Bangalore, India. When she was 21 years old, Dr. Rajalakshmi met with a road accident resulting in a spinal cord injury that left her paralysed waist-down. The incident would have been crippling to most people. It only made Dr. Rajalakshmi even more determined to fulfil all the goals she had before disability struck. She went on to complete her BDS and MDS in Orthodontics (with a university gold medal). Today she is a successful clinician and practitioner. In addition, Dr. Rajalakshmi won the Miss Wheel Chair India title in 2014. She went on to represent India at the Miss Wheel Chair World Pageant title in Poland. She’s also an accomplished wheel chair athlete and dancer. She is a peer trainer for wheel chair training programs both nationally and internationally. She is a disability rights activist through her organization named S.J foundation.
